IT’S NICE TO MEET YOU
Hi, I’m Michael.
I’m a writer and historian who has contributed to The Atlantic, The New Yorker, WIRED, Vox, The New York Times, and other publications.
I live in Brooklyn and work by day as a copywriter. I am also a freelance producer for the Economics of Everyday Things podcast.
My first book, The Other Olympians: Fascism, Queerness, and the Making of Modern Sports, was published in 2024. It was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and a winner of the Lambda Literary Award in LGBTQ+ Nonfiction. (Read all about the book here.)
My second book, Give Me Some Credit, will trace the history of the modern credit reporting system.
